In August 2011, Chongqing Colorful Technology Co., Ltd. was officially established in Jiulongpo District, Chongqing, China. Led by founder Wei Jiaming, the company was created with a clear goal: to become a reliable PVC card manufacturer and trusted PVC card supplier serving the growing domestic demand for plastic card products. Located at No. 93-8 Longdu Road, Huayan Town, the factory marked the beginning of a focused and practical entrepreneurial journey.

Discovering an Untapped Market

Before the company was founded, Wei Jiaming and his partners carried out detailed market research across Chongqing. Instead of relying on assumptions, they visited shopping malls, advertising studios, exhibition organizers, and various small and medium-sized enterprises. These on-the-ground visits provided valuable first-hand insights into local procurement needs.

During this process, they discovered a clear market gap. Products such as PVC cards, plastic ID badges, and PVC menus were widely used in membership systems, promotional campaigns, and business operations. However, there was no specialized local plastic card supplier or professional PVC card manufacturer in Chongqing capable of producing these items at scale.

As a result, many businesses had to source from other cities, facing long delivery times, higher costs, and inconvenient communication. For a fast-developing commercial environment, this inefficiency created frustration among buyers.

Recognizing both the demand and the lack of local supply, Wei Jiaming made a decisive decision—to establish a factory dedicated to plastic card manufacturing and serve the domestic market more efficiently.

Taking the First Step: Setting Up the Factory

After confirming the opportunity, the team quickly moved into action. They rented a factory space in Huayan Town, Jiulongpo District, and began building a production line from the ground up. For a newly established company, this was a bold move that required both financial commitment and confidence in the market.

At the beginning, resources were limited, and every decision had to be made carefully. However, one principle remained clear: investing in the right equipment was essential to ensure product quality and long-term competitiveness as a professional PVC card supplier.

Building a Professional Production Line

Based on their earlier research, Wei Jiaming prioritized the purchase of core production equipment. One of the first major investments was a Heidelberg four-color printing press, a machine well-known for its efficiency and high-quality color output. This allowed the company to handle bulk orders while maintaining consistent printing standards.

In addition, the team discovered that most plastic cards on the market followed the standard bank card size. To align with this common specification, they introduced an automated die-cutting machine, ensuring accurate sizing and clean, uniform edges for every card produced.

To further enhance production precision and product durability, two more key machines were added to the production line: an automatic registration machine and a laminating machine.
